How to choose home internet in Cyprus

Pricely team · Updated 18 October 2026 · How we pick

For most homes, 200 to 500 Mbps fibre is plenty: enough for 4K streaming on several TVs and video calls at the same time. The lowest two-year cost right now is Cablenet Super 300M (€558 with setup, about €23.25 a month), and the cheapest 1 Gbps is Cablenet GigaMax 1000M (€570 over two years).

Before you choose by price, check two things: which operators' fibre reaches your address, and whether you'll take a mobile plan from the same operator, because Epic and Primetel charge much less when you do.

Can you get fibre at home?

The fear: signing up, then waiting weeks or finding out it isn't available.

The rule: enter your address on each operator's website first. Fibre is now most of Cyprus's home connections; Cyta's network is the widest, Cablenet also has its own cable network, and Epic's 5 Gbps plan works only where Epic's own fibre reaches. Cyta says a new fibre connection takes about two months, depending on the wiring in your home, so ask before you cancel your old line.

How much speed do you need?

The dilemma: 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps.

  • 200–300 Mbps: a couple or family streaming, working from home, video calls. From €28.49 a month on average (Primetel Home Fiber 200Mbps & TV).
  • 500 Mbps–1 Gbps: a big household, gamers, big downloads, several people on video at once.
  • Over 1 Gbps: rarely worth it. Wi-Fi in most homes can't deliver it to one device anyway.

Working from home? Look at the upload speed too: it decides how good you look on video calls and how fast files go up. Cablenet Super 300M uploads at 30 Mbps, while fibre plans of the same price upload at 60 Mbps or more.

Compare the two-year cost, not the first bill

The regret: a cheap first year, then a price jump on a contract you can't leave.

The rule: add up two years. Cablenet GigaMax 1000M starts with free months, then costs €0 a month. Primetel's prices go up after the first year. One-off fees differ too: Cyta €159, Epic €36, Primetel nothing, Cablenet €30. The same 200 Mbps costs between €683.76 and €995.76 over two years. Our home internet comparison does the sum for every plan.

With a mobile plan from the same operator

The dilemma: keep your mobile where it is, or move it to get cheaper internet.

The rule: if you're flexible on mobile, price both together. Epic's Fiber 200Mbps costs €39.99 a month on its own and €19.99 in the first year with an Epic mobile plan. Primetel takes €5 a month off with a Primetel mobile plan. Tick "with a mobile plan" on the comparison to see those prices, and read how to choose a mobile plan.

Do you want TV with it?

Primetel's home fibre plans include a 50-channel TV pack at no extra cost. With the others, TV is a separate package; Cablenet's starter TV works with any internet provider. See TV packages or how to choose a TV package.
