Questions

Do I need my own router in Cyprus?

No, Cyta, Epic, Cablenet and PrimeTel give you one. Buy your own if the Wi-Fi is weak in parts of the home, or if you want Wi-Fi 6 or 7 speed. Connect it to the provider's box with a cable.

Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7?

Wi-Fi 6 routers start at €43 in Cyprus today and Wi-Fi 7 at €69. Wi-Fi 6 is enough for most homes; Wi-Fi 7 pays off with a fibre line over 1 Gbps and new phones or laptops.

Mesh or range extender?

A range extender (from €46) fixes one weak room cheaply but halves the speed there. A mesh kit (from €58) gives full-speed Wi-Fi across several rooms or floors, which suits thick Cypriot walls and two-storey houses.
